Crock Pot Lasagna: This recipe from Food.com serves up a delicious cheesy lasagna! I substitute the hamburger for Italian sausage. Also, don’t forget to line your slow cooker with foil when you fix this one.
Crock Pot Cowboy Casserole: This recipe from Kylee Cooks includes everything you love about Cowboy Casserole only this one cooks in the slow cooker!
Slow Cooker Pizza Casserole: This slow cooker casserole from Taste of Home is loaded with all the flavors of pizza! A highly customizable recipe, we add black olives, mushrooms, and peppers to ours. But you do you!
Crock Pot Mexican Casserole: This Mexican crockpot casserole from Well Plated is made with quinoa, veggies, ground turkey, and more.
Family Casserole Recipes
Cowboy Casserole: This casserole from centslessdeals is super popular! Think tater tots, meets creamy sauce, meets meat, and veggies, and tons of cheese. Yes, please!
Easy Cheesy Tortellini Casserole: I found this recipe from Instrupix on Pinterest and saw that over 200 people had photographed and praised this casserole in the comments. To really knock it out of the park use Italian Sausage and a bit of red pepper flake. Crazy good!
Homemade Shepherds Pie: This recipe from Savory Nothings steps up the expectations you may have formed from a standard shepherds pie. It’s all about the gravy here. You can sub the wine with additional beef broth if you prefer but I think it adds so much to the overall flavor. Ridiculously good!
Husband’s Delight Casserole: This recipe is what made me start to wonder why I wasn’t using dry spaghetti sauce mix in my lasagna. Such flavor! Who knew? This family casserole is a true crowd-pleaser!
Famous Chef’s Casseroles
Mexican Rice Casserole by Ree Drummond: First of all I better confess that I am a Pioneer Woman fan. Like, big time. But Ree didn’t earn my adoration just because her dishes make my kitchen all rainbows and sunshine. No, she can cook too. And here is proof. This makes a lot of food so I split it in half and freeze one pan for later.
Gordon Ramsay Macaroni Cheese and Cauliflower Bake Recipe: Creamy, rich, delicious – perfect for your Meatless Monday Meal.
Emeril’s Cowboy Chicken Casserole: Think chicken, mushrooms, and layer after layer after layer of spicy flavorful deliciousness. Everything from lime to wine manages to find it’s way into this Emeril Lagasse casserole.
Matty Matheson’s Brocolli, Chicken, Cheddar, and Curry Casserole: So Matty Matheson is my son’s favorite chef. His flavors are just crazy delicious and this casserole is a perfect example. If you are not familiar with this chef, he um, well – he has a mouth like a sailor. Just warning you to prevent any troubling consequences such as you watching this video in your office with clients on the other side of the wall or maybe in front of your favorite littles. Don’t do that. But do make his casserole!
Chicken Casserole Dishes
Crack Chicken Casserole: This recipe from Plain Chicken has its own fan base. This casserole is comprised of creamy chicken loaded with cheddar, bacon, and ranch.
Cheesy Chicken Casserole: This casserole from Spend with Pennies includes chicken, pasta shells, peppers, and a fan following.
Grandma’s Chicken Casserole: This casserole recipe from Betty Crocker only requires five ingredients! Simplicity at its finest. (A little hint – reduce the amount of bread crumbs to just two cups or swap with crushed Ritz crackers.)
Chicken Noodle Casserole: This casserole recipe from The Cozy Cook is a favorite. It calls for broccoli but we also add cauliflower to ours. Easy and really good.
Healthy Casserole Dishes
Healthy Mexican Casserole: This casserole from Pinch of Yum has roasted corn, roasted bell peppers, cheese, enchilada sauce, and corn tortillas. Yum!
Healthy Chicken Vegetable Casserole: This inexpensive and fresh version of a chicken casserole from Spark Recipes is loaded with veggies and topped with Monterey Jack Cheese!
Skinny Tuna Noodle Casserole: This casserole from Skinny Taste is made with canned tuna, mushrooms, peas, and noodles in a creamy sauce (and no canned soup) and finished with toasted breadcrumbs. Reviewers are obsessed with this one.
Mexican Casserole Recipes
Chili Relleno Casserole: This casserole from Eazy Peazy Mealz offers layers of cheese, ground beef, corn tortillas, and of course green chilis making this casserole a quick family favorite.
Beef Tortilla Taco Casserole: This casserole recipe from Pillsbury is so as simple as it gets! Perfect for a weeknight dinner!
Beef Enchilada Casserole: Another casserole from Spend With Pennies! What can I say? Holly knows her casseroles! This is really good just as it is but we do tweak this one a bit. I add roasted corn and black beans in place of kidney beans because that’s what we like. But seriously good however you fix it.
Mexican Quesadilla Casserole: This casserole from Allrecipes is really flavorful but my favorite thing about it is how quickly it comes together! It only bakes for 15 minutes! Tip: Fry your tortillas.
Breakfast or Brunch Casseroles
Baked Pecan French Toast: I am Baker delivers what may be the ultimate in breakfast casseroles with this version of french toast.
Copy Cat Cracker Barrel Hashbrown Casserole Recipe: Cracker Barrel has two menu items that I honestly believe they do better than anyone. One is their chicken and dumplings and two is their hashbrown casserole. This copy cat recipe from Spend with Pennies is good. I admit I tweaked it and added garlic powder, reduced the sour cream by half, and added diced ham and a bit of poblano, but I’m so picky.
How To Make Strata: There are so many versions of strata that I couldn’t pick just one. So, I am sharing this post from The Pioneer Woman which includes a nice variety. T and I love The Joy Of Cooking Strata recipe too. Our secret ingredients to make any strata a total rockstar – add slow roasted garlic and a bit of goat cheese!
Biscuits and Gravy with Sausage and Egg Breakfast Casserole: T and I brought this casserole from Scattered Thoughts of a Crafty Mom to a group of volunteers at Doe River Gorge as part of a service project our church does annually. It was the first dish gone! And we had several people come back asking if we had any more of that. Also, T and I made it for Saturday morning breakfast for the next three weeks. And we still make it a lot. It’s seriously tasty.
Which casserole are you fixing first? Up next for us a repeat of the Matty Matheson Chicken Casserole. It’s T’s pick for the ultimate comfort casserole. Mr. Wonderful wants the Chili Relleno to end up on our menu board in the near future. As for me, the crockpot lasagna! But we will pull from this collection again and again until Spring rolls around.
We would be so grateful if you would share with us the name of your favorite casserole in the comments section below. We love to hear from and be inspired by you!
